Psychological Therapy

For The Survivors, Protectors, Sensitives & Stoics Who Are Struggling

The Next Chapter.
Life comes with its fair share of challenges—difficult moments, unexpected turns, and the pressure to keep going no matter what. Maybe you’ve relied on resilience, hard work, or sheer determination to get through tough times.

Whether you’re still navigating those struggles or standing at a point where things should feel better, you might be wondering what’s missing. It’s completely understandable. Trauma, stress, and unresolved emotions can linger beneath the surface, shaping how you see yourself and the world around you. Maybe you’ve learned to push through, numb the pain, or stay busy to avoid what’s beneath it all. But healing isn’t about just getting by—it’s about finding clarity, balance, and the ability to truly thrive.

Unlocking The Uncharted Territory

with Sarah Campbell

My name is Sarah Campbell, and as a Clinical Psychologist, I have worked with complex trauma, addiction, violence and attachment challenges for over a decade. I am really passionate about supporting people to pause and examine the strategies they have relied on and missing pieces that might have been sacrificed along the way. For so many people, the balance has been tipped towards survival at the expense of health, connection and intimacy.

A Note For Men

To Drop Your Guard & Communicate Is Brave

Unless we learn to lower our guards, it is hard to experience the life that we have worked so hard for and deserve. For many men, this immediately sets of alarm bells. It sounds like a huge risk. I mean, if we drop the guard in business or sports, we usually get our teeth knocked out. So why would we?

Well, because the consequences of walking around in the world with your guard up can be problematic. Issues with depression and loneliness are very real for many men as they struggle to produce the serotonin and oxytocin that comes from close and intimate relationships. Instead, they are often running off dopamine and cortisol, which can have serious consequences for sleep, cardiovascular health, and immune function. It also makes it much harder to bond in longer-term relationships, and is a recipe for hypervigilance, irritability, anxiety, and stress. This can be devastating for men’s mental health as they end up in a vicious cycle – trying to feel better with hits of dopamine that come from pursing success and achievement or excitement and novelty (i.e. sex, drugs and rock’n’roll).

To get out of this trap, it is important to learn how to safely connect and communicate with others. This takes some courage, curiosity, and patience. It requires us to become a little more self-aware, to communicate clearly, and to start partaking in activities that increase serotonin and oxytocin, helping us to feel more relaxed, rested, safe, and secure.

Issues that can evolve if these things are not addressed include:

  • Poor Sleep And Fatigue
  • Reduced Sex Drive
  • Stress And Burnout
  • Depression
  • Physical Health Issues
  • Anxiety
  • Aggression And Frustration
  • Reduced Productivity
  • Vigilance And Hyperarousal
  • Substance Use
